FilmAid is proud to announce our participation in the 2016 Lincoln Center Global Exchange, an invitation-only gathering of world leaders and change agents devoted to exploring the role of art and culture in addressing critical challenges facing our collective future. FilmAid founder, Caroline Baron, will join Michael Bloomberg, Samantha Power, David Miliband, Stephen Daldry, David Rubenstein among other prominent art and humanitarian industry leaders on the main stage of the conference to explore how art can heal the wounds and divisions of conflict.

Following the main stage event, FilmAid will lead a Studio Session to engage participants in a Film-Based Workshop using the film He Named Me Malala. Attendees will help unleash the power of great storytelling with an immersive film-based workshop focused on enabling refugee girls to be the authors of their own future and the protagonists in their own empowerment.  FilmAid facilitators will expose leaders to FilmAid’s theory of change, enabling the audience members to unlock the power of storytelling and unpack representations in the film to spark an animated discussion about their own experiences and roles in addressing the global refugee crisis, with a special emphasis on the experiences and challenges of refugee girls. FilmAid is honored by the opportunity to demonstrate how film can unleash the potential for social change and to showcase unique and effective art-based solutions to the world’s most pressing issues. Through dynamic dialogue and powerful performance, this conference bridges disciplines and geographies to help move the arts to the center of international discourse.

Following the conference, Image Nation Abu Dhabi will host a reception in honor of FilmAid and our recent collaboration in Jordan to bring He Named Me Malala to young refugee girls and women fleeing the conflict in Syria.
